Lewis Carroll was the pen name of the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (Jan 27, 1832 - Jan 14, 1898). In addition to his role as an author, Carroll was a mathematician, logician, photographer and Anglican clergyman. He wrote in the genre referred to as 'literary nonsense,' and his most famous works are Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.
